This antiscalant dosing calculator finds the chemical feed rate for a reverse-osmosis system from the target dose and the feed water flow. Enter the values above.

Formula

Feed rate (g/h) = Dose(mg/L) × Flow(L/h) ÷ 1,000

Example

3 mg/L (ppm) dose, 10,000 L/h feed: feed rate = 3 × 10,000 ÷ 1,000 = 30 g/h.

For neat product, divide by the product’s concentration to set the dosing-pump rate.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I calculate antiscalant dosing?

Multiply the dose in mg/L by the feed flow in L/h and divide by 1,000 to get grams per hour of active chemical.

What is a typical antiscalant dose?

Often a few ppm, but the right dose depends on the feed water chemistry and the product; follow the supplier’s guidance.

How do I set the dosing pump?

Convert the chemical mass rate to neat product volume using the product concentration, then set the pump to that flow.
